Vaccines are substances made of microorganisms that are administered in different periods of our lives, specially during childhood, in order to protect us from specific illnesses. These vaccines make our bodies produce the necessary defenses, that in the case of future exposure to the microorganism we are vaccinated against, we will not suffer the illness it generates.

Most vaccines protect against specific illnesses, but there are vaccines that protect against more than one: measles, rubella, parotitis.

Why is important to vaccinate our babies?

  • We avoid them the suffering and pain derived from the illness
  • We avoid the risk of them suffering disorders or sequelae that could impact their health in the long run
  • Is important not to interrupt the vaccination schedule to avoid increasing the number of cases

When do I have to get the vaccines and at what age?

In the following link you will find the vaccination schedule in your region

This calendar specifies the vaccines that will be given up to 14 years of age. After that age, you must continue with the vaccines related to adulthood as indicated by the doctor.

Remember to bring the vaccination booklet to the hospital so the doctors can write down all the administered vaccines and keep control of all shots received by the child.
